Weathrman Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) > Strange Behaviour > I have an image of [insert something rude].

We do two things to avoid seeing X-rated stuff.

First and foremost, we use a flickr API that isn’t authenticated as a user; as a rule, that means content that Flickr thinks are “adult” in nature are removed from search results.  We only perform these “safe” searches.

Safe, however, is open to interpretation.  Nudity isn’t always “adult”; that doesn’t mean that you want to see a naked arse of a base jumper in hyde park on a phone you might hand to your mum.  These photos aren’t adult - but harnessed butt isn’t exactly a picturesque landscape, either.  We have a list of “banned” terms that we use to exclude photos that might not be good fits for a phone desktop.

However, things slip through.  Please drop us a note with the photo URL in the top left corner of the screen, and we’ll see if there’s some way we can add something to the exclusion list to avoid images tagged in a similar fashion in the future.
