Weathrman’s TODO list

There’s a handful of bugs that are on fire:

  • Add “underwear”, “inside”, and “celebrity” to the banlist.
  • Consider avoiding images without proper titles, as the poster didn’t care enough.
    • Remove all-numeric titles
    • Remove any image starting with IMG_ in the title
  • Updating the apk should not un-set us if we are the currently set live wallpaper.  This annoys the hell out of me, but I just haven’t gotten around to looking at if there’s anything that can be done about it.

There are a few feature requests, too.

  • If the network is weak, don’t update.  There’s a listener in android.telephony for stuff like this.
  • User preferences to control update frequency
  • User preferences to tighten/loosen search terms.  (allow nudity, I guess, as an option)

    • Supply a hardcoded location as default.
    • Turn off ‘my location’ to use only hardcoded location.
    • Update frequency controls
    • Disable background updates
    • Length of history to keep.  (possibly hardcoded)

  • “About Image” screen
    • Add image license
    • “lock” this image down as the current wallpaper,
  • Keep a list of images seen in the last 72 hours, and don’t show repeats.
  • If the user rotates an image in flickr, that rotation is not performed when we use the original image.
